Had at a restaurant in Hollister MO. Don't remember too much about it other than it was refreshing and had a mild malt taste. Nice golden color and small head. Rated 7-19-2021 25 IBUs

 

Poured from 12oz can into a tulip. Canned on 4/11/17.

Appearance: light golden hue with a crystal-clear body and a light effervescence. Head is a thick finger of frothy white foam; it's a spot-on look.

Smell: mostly clean and nicely grainy. There's maybe a tiny hint of oxidation, but for the most part is a a good example of the style.

Taste: rich and malty flavor. It is not complex but the depth of malt flavor is really good; perhaps not as light and crisp as a traditional Kölsch, but for the most part quite good.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a big carbonation and a good creaminess. I like it.

Overall: a bit thicker than most Kölsches, but it's still very drinkable. Definitely worth trying.

Poured from the 12 oz can into a stubby Ciney snifter. Attractive pile of white foam on the yellow brew. Watery body, in a nice way. Some wheaty flavor like Malt-O-Meal. The label notes there is some wheat in the malt bill and the hops are Czech Saaz and German Tettnanger. Flowery with a hint of resins. Sweet bread.

This has just enough of the "prefumey" aroma and taste that is my benchmark for the Kölsch style. It's quite elegant and subtle, though. It's like the best Blonde ale you ever had. From the 12 oz can purchased at Malt & Vine in Redmond.

 

 

A: Slightly cloudy straw color, quickly dissipating head.
S: Sweet crackery malts, with earthy, spicy hops.
T: Crisp, well balanced, and refreshing. Nicely layered malt base.
M: Prickly, appropriate.
O: I'm impressed! For a newer brewery, this is very dialed in and polished. Spot on for style. Delicious!
