A Koelsch style ale. Brewed with continental malts and traditional German hops. This light beer is balanced with sweet notes from honey malt and balanced with a subtle bitterness. Grab your paddles and whaeck back a few. You don’t even need an umlaut.

not bad, not incredible, my first from these guys. not as light in color or as crisp in texture as the best of these, but not way off either, a little bit kind of dumbed down and americanized to me, like im not sure about the water chemistry, not sure about mashing technique, not sure about fermentation temperature, but at the very least they got the ingredients right. a european flare to the grain in arom and flavor, crackery, slightly german and dusty, a little bit sweet in the middle too, but its resolved later on. the yeast is similar to me, a little bit old world, but also a little stressed maybe, the beer is dry, but its not snappy or as clean as it could be, not as refined, not as patient. there is a little bit of hop bitterness on the back end, maybe a bit more than is common, but it fits here. to me this is just a little on the rich malty side, not as light and easy as i want it to be, and not quite as tidy on the fermentation, but its close, the balance is there, and the beer is still super light and drinkable. maybe not the perfect style to make a first impression, like kolsch is either amazing or its forgettable, but solid enough that i will try to be on the lookout for more from these guys when i am back in colorado next to get a better assessment. refreshing with spicy food this one.
