16oz can from LambicPentameter (yet another thanks to this outstanding BA!). No canning date. Served in an oversized Bruery snifter. Enjoyed 5/29/18.
Pours a hazy, pale orange gold with about a finger and a half cap of white head. The froth fades, leaving a few small islands, a narrow band and a couple thin trails of lace.
Super juicy nose with aromas of citrus, melon, berry, faint flower petals and a hint of toast. Smells great.
Tastes a little more bitter than expected with citrus peel, lemon, melon, seeded berries, a floral bitterness, some slight dankness, faint mint, a hint of caramel and just a whisper of alcohol.
Medium body with a fairly dry feel and moderate carbonation. The slightly bitter aftertaste is like citrus berry melon marmalade on toast.
I’d never heard of Homes Brewery before this arrived at my door. They certainly make a fine DIPA. Different Same Same was a little more bitter than anticipated but mighty enjoyable all the same. I wouldn’t mind trying more from these guys.
