Pours a moderately dark yellow with a firm fog to the transparency. Head is two fingers of white foam that bubbles down rather quickly. Aroma is citrus with crackery, wafery, and biscuity malts with subtle oak behind. Clove and grassy hops come on more strongly as the beer warms. Moderately dry, but not enough to keep hops and malts from lingering. Flavor profile is driven by citrus, with crackery, wafery, biscuity, nutty malts. Oak comes on more firm in the back half, smothering out some of the malty dryness. Clove, grassy hops, and spicy yeast zest accentuate the middle and back-half of the flavor profile. Great shape to the taste, landing between refreshing and easy. Mouth feel is medium-thin with a soft crisp texture. Effervescence nears on soft, but is just firm enough to remain crisp. That soft feature is driven by a chalky, velvety texture. Overall, a really refreshing, crisp lager that manages to pack in nuance and flavor alongside an easy-going attitude.
