I’ve only had one beer brewed with Buddha’s hand before and it was quite a strange experience. I feel like it could clash with the cocoa in this one, but I’m certainly intrigued by it, especially given the presence of raspberry and cherry as well. Let’s crack it open and see what’s going on

Pours an opaque reddish purple with 2 fingers of frothy pinkish white head that slowly fades to a cap and leaves decent lacing

The nose is promising, showing a nice balance between the berries, citrus, and sweeter notes. I’m picking up on aromas of lemon zest, lime candy, cocoa powder, black cherry, tart raspberry, light vanilla, brown sugar, and red grape

The citrusy vibe from the Buddha’s hand is a little more muted in taste and the cocoa comes out more, but I think it helps the balance. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting tart raspberry, orange zest, cocoa powder, vanilla ice cream, sweet cherry, lemon zest, and light blackberry. The swallow brings notes of cocoa powder, lime juice, lemon zest, black cherry, candied orange, vanilla, light raspberry, and brown sugar

A medium body pairs with moderate carbonation, resulting in a slick yet sharp beer. Finishes neutral with a nice bite

This one is a winner. Not too thick and has a nice balance, something the style can often fail to achieve

16 FL OZ can
Served in an oversized, stemless wine glass

This beer pours a murky beet color and is topped with a thick head that matches the deep purple hue. The sides of the glass are coated with fruit purée as the head recedes.

I'm surprised by how much cacao I smell. I get that and raspberry right away. I get a citrus burst which I assume is the Buddha's hand. I even get some sweet cherry.

Once again the cacao stands out. Raspberry follows. I get a little citrus. It's hard to pick out the cherry for me. Maybe a little in the aftertaste.

Full bodied with a thick, creamy mouthfeel

Thick and flavorful

Can pour - It's thicc, poured without one of those pellicle-looking heads. Nose has some tart berry to it. I have no idea what Buddha's Hand is, but I think of the monkey paw from Treehouse of Terror for some reason. Flavor is ok, but nothing eye-popping here.
