Twa Dogs Brewery 'Drouthy Neibor IPA' @ 6.0% , served on tap at GCBF'16 & from a recent 473 ml can
A-pour is light gold from the tap/can to a slight hazy gold in the glass with a medium white head leaving a streaky lace along the tulip
S-hints of citrus & tropical fruits
T-clean & crisp , lacks something , not the best swallow
MF-ok carbonation , big medium body
Ov-just an ok beer

Appearance - Pours a warm amber/ honey with three fingers of foamy white head.

Smell - leafy and earthy hops, bready malts, and citrusy earthy yeast.

Taste - Leafy and earthy hops are very mild. The bready malts and citrusy earthy yeast are the predominant flavours. A hint of sourness that I can't quite put my finger on.

Mouthfeel - Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes smooth with the malts lingering.

Overall - A brew that showcases the malts well. The hops are way too subdued to be in this class of brews. Such a shame as this beer has a lot of potential.

473ml can - wow, these guys are really in deep with that Ole Rabbie Burns fella, aren't they?

This beer pours a mostly clear, bright medium golden yellow colour, with three fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and rather fizzy dirty white head, which leaves a bit of sudsy island group lace around the glass as it quickly blows off.

It smells of bready and grainy caramel malt, indistinct domestic citrus peel, a touch of earthy yeastiness, and some plain leafy, herbal, and musty green hop bitters. The taste is semi-sweet, grainy and bready caramel malt, mixed citrus and pome fruity notes, musty yeast, and more understated earthy, weedy, and dead grassy noble hoppiness.

The carbonation is adequate in its structurally supportive frothiness, the body a decent middleweight, and generally smooth, nothing really mucking about here. It finishes off-dry, the basic bitch malt carrying the lingering day.

Overall - yeah, this one definitely shows its old-world roots, real or assumed. The hoppy notes are there, sure, but way too subdued to classify this in the American vein. The only true positive here is the totally obfuscated 14-proof wowee sauce quotient, which I'm certain the old bard would have appreciated!
