A Unique blend of seven different malts and BC grown Cascade & Columbus hops are used to create our comforting and original recipe Rye Stout. A full bodied black ale with a chocolatey salted caramel aroma fused with roasted almonds, cocoa, pumpernickel, and black currents. The end result is a sweet and a balanced brew.

A- This pours a dark brown, like, as the previous review stated, cola, and has black hues. The head is caramel in color, dense and creamy, and starts off about two fingers in thickness, before settling into a thick creamy layer of foam over top the brew. Carbonation is not available to see of course, and the lacing appears to be sticky, forming a solid looking layer over the inside of my tulip glass. Overall this looks to be a decent Stout.
S- Immediate aromas of deep dark chocolate, and or cocoa powder, and dry dark malt breads. Secondary smells of caramel/toffee/molasses sweetness, milky chocolate, nuttiness (think toasted almonds), vanilla bean pod and dried Medjool dates and figs. There is a certain Earthiness about this one that lingers in the nostrils right at the finish, leading me into a taste....
T- Oh yes, this is quite delectable!.....Deep dark cocoa/dark chocolate, creamy French pressed style Mocha, dry spiced Rye grain, vanilla infused caramel truffle, even some marshmallow sweetness and dark dried fruits, and again, back to the Medjool date and fig are prominent on the palate. I get such a rustic balanced grainy dry flavor that malt sweetness certainly blends with that fruitiness.....the finish is of an Earthy hopped smoothness that makes my palate water for the next sip....delicious!
M/O- This is medium-full bodied, and the carbonation is smooth, almost like a nitro....just the way I like a good stout! The drinkability factor is very good here, and the alcohol is well hidden....this is almost dessert like, and doesn't set out to be so. Overall, I would love to enjoy this Stout again, and I find it so velvety and enjoyable....full of flavors yet nothing overpowering and apparent when it comes to the sweetness of astringency....just a nicely balanced stout with use of the Rye grain. Recommended for sure and I will hopefully source in the future!
