Märzen is our "March" beer. It symbolizes the beginning of Spring. This is an amber colored beer with a rich malty character. There is a hint of hops but the overall profile is smooth and very drinkable.

My first Hofbrauhaus, and its a fall seasonal
It poured a copper orange, average eggshell head.
The aroma was nutty, caramelized malts.Though malts are not
as over the top as other O'fests. The body seemed medium.
The taste is caramel, malts, nut with litle hop.
Mouthfeel felt alittle watered.
Drinkability is there, good crisp sweet brew thats easy to drink

Enjoyed this seasonal brew while near Cincinnati recently. Pretty much the brother to the Oktoberfest beers. Quite bready and caramelly with nutty and grainy undertones. Lightly hopped for character and bittering. Quite light and airy on the palate. Moderately dry because of hopping and alcohols. Pretty good beer per style, but the style is quite pedestrian.

This beer poured a clean copper color without a head. The nose was caramel and slightly nutty. Not a lot of the lager smell that I'm used to in a marzen. Very nice. The flavor was very much what the nose told me, though a little weak. The caramel was dominant, with a slight nuttyness in the background. The feel was a little watery for my liking. It fell shy of moderate. Overall, this was not a bad beer at all, but the slight weakness in the flavor and feel made it just average in my book.
