Our unfiltered lager. Smooth and richer than the Hofbräu Lager which allows the flavors to linger.

A: Pours a cloudy gold with a tight, compact white head that laces deep into the glass. I really dig the hazy, unfiltered appearance of this lager.
S: Very malty and bready on the nose with biscuity, cracker-like notes readily apparent. Aromas of grassy, herbal hops kick in once the beer settles in the glass.
T: Opens dry and malty with biscuit and cracker notes joined by minerals, lemon, grass, straw, and hay around mid-palate. The finish sees the hops asserting themselves a bit more, balancing out the muscular malt notes.
M: Light-to-medium bodied, crisp, and dry. Carbonation is very present, but not forceful. Supremely drinkable (if a bit light) for the style.
O: I really like this take on a German zwickel and wish the brewery would make this a regular release. If you're lucky enough to go in when they're serving it, be sure to try it.

Obviously pours cloudy and unfiltered with a foamy 2 inch white head. Golden in color.
Juicy biscuit and cereal malts, with earthy hops and the aroma of yeast. Liquid bread.
Very nice, easy drinking lager. Semi sweet malt flavors very bready, with some cereal and biscuit flavors intermingled well with a brisk dry finish balanced nicely by the earthy hops. Creamy and nicely carbonated in the middle with a quick cut off on the finish.

Enjoyed a liter, on tap of this Zwickelbeer with lunch, late afternoon, on vacation. We made Newport,Ky a stop just for the Hofbrauhaus.
The Zwickel is offered as an as needed rotating offering when that months featured beer runs out. Hopeing to find the Bohemion Pils, she offered this instead. Very much enjoyed and glad I got the chance.
Its an unfiltered lager, hazy, rich gold. Good white head that maintained well and laced somewhat.
The aroma was of grain malts and slight yeast. (the whole place has a yeasty, grain ora to it so the aroma may be thrown abit.)
The taste was clean, malts, yeast, slight citric in the hop but yet a clean crisp german lager taste and feel.
The mouth lingers abit as the taste holds-on but the feel is good. Not over-powering. Very easy to drink and enjoy with a meal.
So if the featured beer runs out, don't bum it. The back up plan is good!
