A: Pours a hazy golden amber with a thick, clinging white head.
S: Aromas of roasted nuts, caramel, cream, and grassy, floral hops are present on the nose.
T: A gentle, malty entry reveals notes of roasted chestnuts, hazelnuts, heavy cream, vanilla, caramel, grass, herbs, lemon, and straw. The finish is smooth and rich with nutty, bready malt and grassy, herbal hop notes dominating.
M: Medium-bodied, creamy, and smooth. Dries out a bit on the finish. Alcohol presence is not noticeable.
O: This is a very solid Vienna-style lager with a bit more presence and depth than most. In my opinion, this and the Weizenbock are Hofbrauhaus Newport's two best seasonal brews.
