Fox Hat Brewing are a little number out of Adelaide. They'reowned by Vale I think, I've never encountered them before. A 7% IPA, 80IBUs, sounds promising.
Purchased at ALDI at Bankstown Airport Mid-Jan, drunk on 27th Jan.
Vessel: 375ml can, best before 27/11/2024.
Appearance: Lovely golden, light orange hazy appearance, thick and compact white frothy head. Looks lighter than an English IPA, but a strong pale ale look to it.
Aroma: Strong pine and juicy stone fruit aroma. Strong bitter orange and citrus nose. On point.
Taste: Smooth, malty and pine notes. Strong resinous pine notes leave a clean bitterness. Not as bitter as I was expecting.
Feel: Good mouthfeel, the pine bitterness and carbonation make it a little spicy mouthfeel. For a 7% beer, it's very smooth. Could knock a few back.
Overall: A very nice, smooth and refreshing IPA. Would buy again.
