Pours a very dark brown, almost black with thick chocolate colored head.
Smell is sweet with notes of milk chocolate, coffee, coconus, Ovaltine powder and and some dried fruit.
Taste is sweet and chocolatey with notes of cocoa, coffee, licorice, Ovaltine, burned sugar and hints of coconut and dried fruit.
Mouthfeel is medium, soft and well carbonated.
Overall, a very interesting and different stout with a lot of stuff going on. On to sip and ponder.

A 330ml can with a BB of Aug 2018. Acquired a little while back from Trembling Madness in York. This is an imperial version of Brew York's Tonkoko milk stout, doubled up to 7.5% and offering lashings of coconut, cocoa, lactose, vanilla and tonka beans.
A: Poured into a tulip. A very dark brown that appears pitch black in the glass. Produces a vast head of creamy brown foam that lasts for a minute or two before reducing to a patchy surface layer. Slight lacing.
S: Aroma of rich, sweet malt with hints of coconut, tonka bean, vanilla, cocoa, lactose, dark malt, sugar, subtle molasses and ale yeast. A warming whiff of booze in the background. Fantastic!
T: Tastes of sweet dark malt with notes of coconut, cocoa, lactose, tonka bean, vanilla, mild roasted grain, sugar, molasses and ale yeast. No hop character to speak of, and a twinge of alcohol in the background. Seriously sweet, followed by a subdued bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly, with soft carbonation and a thick, unctuous body. Aftertaste of sweet malt, coconut, cocoa, roasted grain, vanilla, tonka bean, lactose and yeast.
O: Woowee - a big, flavoursome sugarbomb! Looks great, while the aroma and flavour are stuffed with coconut, dark malt, cocoa, lactose, vanilla, tonka bean and yeast. Lovely body; smooth and creamy. A smorgasbord of flavours that blend together superbly well; this is a worthy follow-up to the original Tonkoko. Excellent - well worth sampling if you have the chance.
