440ml can.
L: Hazy, red chestnut colour with a big, fluffy, off-white head and spotty lacing.
S: Smells sharp & fruity, like red currant sauce (that’ll be the lingonberries).
T: Tart summer fruits. Aftertaste is herbal and woody (pekko hops).
F: Lightish body, some carbonation, soft mouthfeel. Becomes very dry over time.
O: Refreshing, extra fruity, sour ale. Fruit is pitched just right. Doesn’t overpower, doesn’t add weight, just adds zip.

A 330ml can with a BB of March 2019. Purchased a little while back from Trembling Madness in York. A collaborative brew between Brew York and Bone Machine Brew Co, this is described as a Finnic sour ale brewed with juniper and ligonberries followed by dry-hopping with Pekko. Named after a Finnish raid on a Viking settlement.

A: Poured into a tulip. A deep, hazy pinkish-orange hue with fine suspended sediment and plentiful carbonation. Yields a smallish head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before subsiding and dissipating.

S: Aroma of bright, tart fruit with hints of red berries, sharp juice, mild juniper, vague citrus zest, subtle earthiness and a twinge of leafiness. The hop character doesn't come through too much underneath the fruit, however the end result smells very tasty.

T: Tastes of sour juicy fruit with notes of red berries, mild juniper, earthiness, a hint of citrus, subtle leafiness and lactic acid. Very dry, with little discernible bitterness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with lively carbonation and good body for the style. Quite astringent; dries the palate. Aftertaste of sour berries, juice, mild juniper, earthiness and faint leafiness.

O: Rather good - a balanced, fruity sour that quenches a thirst. Looks alright, while the aroma and flavour are tart, juicy and dry. Nice body. Lacks the depth of a live-conditioned wild ale but refreshing and very drinkable. Well worth sampling.
