Freya, Nordic goddess of love who once cried tears of gold for her husband, the god Odr, acts as inspiration for this lager produced in the old viking stronghold of Jorvik (York). Freya’s Gold is produced without filtration or pasteurisation to create a delightfully clean and crisp lager with maximum flavour.

440ml can.
L: Clear & golden. Clouds of bubbles rising to a white, fluffy head.
S: Lightly grainy. Hint of lemon.
T&F: Herbal & leafy. Moderate carbonation.
O: Clean, hoppy, very dry lager. Uses Crystal and Mounthood hops and tastes like a blend of spicy German ‘noble’ with bitter American hops. It’s a tidy lager but, for my palate, it lacks sweetness, mouthfeel and refreshment.
