Copenhagen 8/9 2025. 44 cl can from Meny, Vermlandsgade, Kbh. S. Off-white can in Brw York's usual design with a whole lot of cocoa products as motif.
Pours opaque dark brown with a mid-sized off-white head. A bit bubbly. Settles as a paper-thin layer of foam stretching to cover he surface of the beer. Clinging to the sides of the glass. No lacing to speak of.
Aroma is fairly intense with a sweet and a bit sugary odor mingling with a bit of alcohol. Sweet chocolate, brown sugar, dark liqueur. Brown and dark indeed.
Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft yet lively and tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a strong sweetness followed by a moderately strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a modest bitter undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is sweet yet a bit dry.
Candy-like milk stout.

330ml can from Beer52 (£0.75):
Pitch black with a 1cm, bubbly head that's tan brown, halving in size quite quickly. Pecan, hazelnut & milk chocolate notrs dominate the nose, there's a faint sweetness at the end. The taste is much the same, there's more of a nuttiness to it here with some vanilla to go with the peacan, hazelnut & chocolate. It's smooth with a medium body & daily light carbonation.

Blind-tasted except for the beer's name and brewery/country...
L- Jet black, no light from a torch behind gets through; unusual. Pours with a 2Cm dark tan creamy looking head, though forms no lacing.
S- Chocolate milk... with a shot of some liquor added.
T- Take the Smell^ and ... voila, turn it 100% directly into Taste. Surely this had added cocoa to it?... Anyway, I am pleased to say that this is not over-rich, rich yes somewhat but not hugely. That also means that unlike some of these Milk Stouts it's nowhere near approaching outright sweet.
F- Rather luscious, nowhere near as rich as I expected.
O- Very nice, exceeds expectations. If this were a bar of milk chocolate turned faithfully into a beer then this is about as close as I've ever tasted. But then the cycnic might ask do you want to drink choco-milk or beer? So, lovely to try, just not a style that's a regular for me.
Review1992/scoring all done, now the reveal, I get to read the lables to see what I missed! ==> Contains cocoa nibs and lactose and a loooot more info on the lable, 'peanut, hazlenut, caramel stout' etc.
440ml/can BB: 31/12/2022 £4.70 Bought from TremblingMadness, York/UK as part of a large pick-your own consignment to London.
