There's a definite natural coconut thrust to the flavor for sure, but it's also not overdone. What really makes this work for me are two things. First, it's really crisp and dry for a 7% beer, with a solid slap of bitterness. Second, and more importantly, is the background dank complexity contributed by the mosaic hop addition.

It drinks like a beer, in other words, not like a dessert. And a very pleasant surprise at that.

Tiki Breeze Coconut IPA is "hopped with a generous amount of Sabro and Mosaic hops then lovingly conditioned on a bed of toasted coconut." I've never had Sabro outside of a hazy, so when this poured a beautifully transparent golden straw color I was intrigued even more. My complaint with Sabro is that it's coconut notes can taste artificial, but the additional use of toasted coconut helps to give this a much more natural coconut flavor. There's still a bitterness from the hops, but the coconut makes it hard to really pick up on the Mosaic. I feel like I taste a certain mild salinity that reminds of sitting on the shore. Light in body, this is a very refreshing beer. I couldn't make this a daily drinker, but there are times and places that it'd fit right in.

16oz can (no date) poured into 14oz teku. Poured a clean, clear light gold color with a half-inch of white head that had low-moderate retention and lacing.

The aroma was dominated by coconut, both from Sabro hops and the toasted coconut it spent time on. There was a slight bit of fruity hop notes, and some light grain as well.

Same on the tongue, just the coconut being even more powerful. The coconut dominates, in a good way.

The body was light, crisp, smooth, and had a dry finish.

Drinkability will depend on your taste for coconut. I like it, so this brew did well for me.

Overall, a really nice brew, especially if you like the coconut. Worth a shot if you see it.
