The first brew out of this breweries new Foeder. Served in 16oz can glass. Poured an almost solid black (a very light amount of translucence allowed some light through) with about 1/3 inch of tan head that had low retention and good lacing.
The aroma had some chocolate at the front, followed by a light bit of roast. There wasn't a huge grain foundation, and the roast was stronger at the back of the olfactory aspect.
Similar on the tongue, with the chocolate being a bit more noticeable, and the roast a bit softer. There was an overall medium sweetness to the flavor profile.
The body was the typical medium of the style, smooth, and had a semi-sweet finish.
Drinkability was good, a nice easy quaff.
Overall, a very pleasant beer. This isn't my favorite style, but I'd have another.
