As the winter storms roll in, lashing sheets of rain against the window, it’s time to reach for something … darker. For this winter’s Solitary Series release, we set sail for a place as rainy as the PNW: the stormy Baltic Sea.

Solitary Series: November 2025 is a Baltic porter, a style of beer that arose along the Baltic coast in the early 1800’s. London porter was the first mass-produced beer of the Industrial Revolution, and found favor not just amongst the dock workers in London, but all across Europe. When British exports were disrupted by the Napoleonic wars, local breweries up and down the Baltic coast rose to fill the void. Over time these beers took on a life of their own, brewed with continental ingredients and local brewing practices, including lager yeast.

We follow in these footsteps with a big, roasty porter brewed with debittered black malt and fermented with German lager yeast. This slow lager fermentation gives the beer an exceptionally smooth mouthfeel, and puts the focus squarely on the roasted malts. Look for layers of dark chocolate, grainy malt, and a touch of caramel.

Solitary Series: November 2025 will be available on draft at the Watts taproom and some of the best beer spots in the Seattle area. Get it while you can!
