Junk Ditch Brewing

Just happen to be in Fort Wayne and stumble upon this gem if ever in the area must try!food was awesome and the beer was delicious. The server very nice.

 

Wow. I stopped by this place on my way to Grand Rapids. I thought I'd give it a shot, have half of a not great beer and be on my way. Wrong. It's a super nice place. The menu is fancy and well done. The beer is above average. I'm not sure if I'll ever be in this part of Indiana again, but if I do, this is the spot.

Junk Ditch is Ft Waynes newest entry in the finally growing local brewery scene. Located in the old Korte Paper warehouse on West Main, the place is modern, while still retaining the old brick industrial feel. Pretty small inside. It is easy to miss, look for the Marathon gas station, it sits back behind.

House beers are still a work in process. They now offer 2-3 of their own beers on tap, which are just okay as a rule. 8-10 interesting guest taps. They also offer wine, no hard liquor.

Where this place really shines is the food. Not your average bar food by a long shot. Rotating farm to table menu, look for items such as sweetbreads and pigs ears, along with duck, salmon, and steak dishes. Everything I have eaten here has been top notch. Service has been friendly.

I am sure their own beers will grow in number, and improve to match the food quality in short time. They seem committed to offering Ft Wayne a unique craft beer/dining destination.
