From the pint can, it pours a hazy golden color with notes of orange and a nice large white head. The head slowly reduces and leaves lacing. The nose gets citrus with lots of pineapple. The mouth follows with a tarty citrusy brew with a mild aftertaste.

Pours a clear golden yellow with a poorly retained thin white head that left little blotches of lacing. Smells of citrus fruits, some floral notes and sweet malts. Tastes of grapefruit, a bit of grapefruit rind, floral and herbal notes, some resin and a touch of honey. Medium bodied, lightly carbonated, slightly dry and bitter finish.

A: This poured a clear gold with a little white head.
S: It smelled like citrus zest and wild honey, with some bready malt and faint papaya.
T: It tasted like bitter citrus zest and sweet honey malt, with a little mango and resin. It had a clean bitter aftertaste.
M: It was thick with moderate carbonation. Nice full body.
D: This was a decent brew with clean but overly simple scent and taste. The body was solid and the finish was mellow, so it was pretty easy to drink. Not bad but not all that great either.

Good DIPA. Poured from a 16 oz can into a water glass. Hazy dull gold color with a medium sized white head. Good retention and nice bands of lacing on the glass. Aroma and taste include both piney and mild citrus hops. Flavor is pretty good. Mouthfeel is crisp and rich enough for the style. Dry biscuit malt an not resiny/oily from the piney hops. No hint of the .abv. Goes down easy. Well crafted brew.

Pours a slightly hazy orange to deep straw yellow. Nice fluffy off white head. Nose is of ripe mango, grasses and floral. Taste a bit more floral that the nose would suggest. Some light mango and pinnaple in there as well along with notes of grass and malt. A bit boozy I would say but that doesn't necessarily detract from the beer. Medium smooth body broken up by the sharp notes of alcohol. Slightly creamy with a crisp finish.

Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass. Canned May 5th 2017.
Pale orange body, not quite amber and fairly opaque looking with a slight dull hue. Good three finger solid head, quite bright white with some retention and a little bit of ring lacing, and island creamy top of retention. Decent looking IPA.
Neutral and quiet nose. Soft hop aroma and a bit small, slightly earthy, maybe a touch floral as well. Nothing sugary or overly malty either, but some light touches of malt character would be nice.
Palate for a DIPA actually goes for a bit simple quality. Slightly juiced and toned down, but with a mild sense of fruit orange in the mid palate. Good simple malt mouthfeel, just a touch of sweetness and a good backbone and body. Hop angle though is minimal, and barely distinct, but actually pleasant nor overly bitter either.
This is a pretty muted DIPA, but in away I kind of prefer it in that sense. However, it is not going to be some juice bomb or some big DIPA that is going to stand with the big guys out there. Enjoyable and drinkable, but pretty straightforward. Hop heads should look elsewhere though.

From the bottom of the can: "05/05/2017 08:16:46"
Appearance: The beer is a cloudy amber-orange color with a medium-sized white head. Good retention and lacing.
Aroma: It has a nice tangerine aroma with a bit of an herbal garlic scent.
Taste: Up front there is a nice bit of pine and it finishes with a bit of a grain flavor mixed with some woody character. Good bitterness with a touch of citrus rind character and clean flavors overall. It rides this line between pine resin and grain flavor that makes the beer very tasty. At times the beer gets a bit of a fruity edge where a clementine flavor pops up but it never fully develops under the umbrella of the pine flavor.
Mouthfeel: Very good bitterness with a medium body. It finishes with just a bit of a resinous texture.
Overall: It's a solid, classic, Double IPA. I would drink it again and it is worth picking up. I enjoyed it.

This beer is more about what it is than what it isn't. I've been drinking local beer that looks like orange juice for a while, so transitioning back to a true east coast IPA takes a minute to truly appreciate. While there is some haze, it's still a decent looking IPA. Nose is tropical hop spice and caramel malt. Taste is big sweet tropical, like nailed mango, followed up by the caramel malt. The bitter factor almost carries itself as a separate entity which only adds to it overall. Thin overall, that's probably the only knock. Glad to have a brewery a stone throws away that harkens back to what an IPA was a few years ago.

L: Poured from a tallboy can to a tulip glass. Had an dark amber color and a hazy consistency. There was a small amount of foamy head that lasted an average amount of time. Average lacing.
S: A decent aroma of hops, some light fruit, a floral quality, and malt.
T: Tasted of a fair amount of fruit elements (pineapple, grapefruit, especially), a light floral quality, an odd soapy quality (not overly apparent), a fair amount of malt, and a good shot of hops. Not an aggressive flavor like some DIPAs, this is in general pretty balanced, if a little overly subtle. Decent though.
F: A solid amount of carbonation with a smooth finish. Medium-bodied.
O: Certainly not a perfect DIPA, this is still quite drinkable. Worth a try,
