Christmas on Gavnø is full of good traditions.
One of them is this year's Gavnø Julebryg, and as always it can be purchased at Denmark's largest Christmas market.

Copenhagen 23/11 2015. 50 cl bottle from Irma, Smedetoften Kbh. NV. Lot of Royal paraphernalia and a Christmas heart on the red label.
Pours hazy dark brown with an off-white head. Stable. Settle as flimsy layer of foam stretching to cover the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma of roasted malts, sugary toffee, caramel, dried fruit and spices. Raisins and vanilla.
Soft carbonation and oily palate. Gently tingling texture.
Flavor is quite sweet. Raisins, caramel, brown sugar and licorice. A little oranges to complement the Christmas mood. Light bitterness in the aftertaste.
A bit heavy on the sweet side. But it is only november yet.
