4/5  rDev +1%
look: 4 | smell: 4 | taste: 4 | feel: 4 | overall: 4

Appearance: Arrives tar colored with a finger's worth of beige foam that leaves some spotty lace

Smell: Coffee and chocolate, with a dark fruit element and a hint of caramel

Taste: Coffee forward with milk chocolate tones developing; an earthy hop character builds, through the middle; after the swallow, some dark fruit and sweet caramel tones emerge to drive home the finish

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: A nice coffee stout that would benefit from a higher ABV to fill out the mouthfeel

Pretty standard flavored stout. Definite notes of coffee and sweetness on the smell over the roastiness, taste is a sweet milk stout with very good coffee presence. Easy drinker, smooth feel, balanced and tasty.

Poured from a 12 oz can into a clear glass tulip. 03/14/17 on the bottom of the can.

A: Black with quickly fading 2-finger beige head with several lines of lacing.

S: Black coffee, dark chocolate, and a moderate roasted dark malt sharpness with some sweeter caramel and date

T: Flavor is not as good as aroma with the black coffee seeming more like burnt old black coffee and the stout character is lost a little bit. There is a little sweetness and a faint artificial vanilla note in the finish.

M: Light and easy to drink with a little too heavy carbonation for me but very drinkable nonetheless

O: A decent coffee stout that needs the coffee character dialed down and the stout character amped up to be a contender.

L - Dark brown, with 1 full finger of head, and some sticky lace left on the glass

S - Coffee dominates. Faint dark roasted malts and caramel

T - Strong coffee flavors up front that dissipates into the roasted malty background. Better up front than finish

F - Thin body and medium carbonation

O - Smells great and is very tasty up front but leaves behind a finish that is not quite as enjoyable

On tap in Atlanta.

Clear, dark red-brown body with a good beige head.
Smooth, medium body with rather medium carbonation.

Excellent aroma and flavor with a good balance between dark roasted grains and coffee, and with high quality in both of these. Fine, lingering aftertaste of coffee and stout.

Overall: exceptional.

12oz can from Sprayberry Bottle Shop (Marietta, GA). 2.59. No canning date but this has only been out for the past few weeks. Served in a Barrel and Barley teku.

Pours almost black, like a dark tea with three fingers of pale manilla head. The scattered haze stretches to a thin halo, leaving sparce lacing.

The nose is a tad muted. Weak coffee, faint roasty malts, some milk sugar and a hint of caramel.

It might have been subtle in the aroma but there is bitter, medium roast coffee flavor galore, almost to the detriment of anything else. Blackened toast, burnt caramel and a mild lactose sweetness.

Medium light body with moderate carbonation. Finishes with burnt coffee and faint lactose.

Interrogation is ok but not on par with Scofflaw's hoppy offerings. It's really not a bad milk stout at all but I found it to be sadly average.

Pours dark brown with one inch tan head that lingers a while and leaves good lacing. Aroma is mostly coffee with some hints of dark chocolate and vanilla. Taste is mostly coffee but some dark chocolate and dark malts. Creamy mouthfeel but a little thin. Overall a very nice easy drinking coffee milk stout.

Had on tap at Taco Mac Midtown ATL...Wow - very original... a quaffable, sessionable Stout in the era of big boozy, syrupy imperials... simply delicious. So tasty and easy to tip back, drinks like a Guinness but with flavor. Highly recommend.
