500mL bottle from Sherlock’s (Kennesaw, GA). 15.98. Bottled 12/9/17. Served in a Scofflaw snifter. Enjoyed 6/7/18.

Pours black with a finger and a half cap of milky tan froth. The head recedes, leaving little retention.

Smells of vanilla, vague coconut, plenty of chocolate, some bourbon-like sweetness and caramel.

Flavors are big, bold and boozey. Dark chocolate booze balls, caramel and some slight roast character.

Lush, full feel with fluffy carbonation. Dark chocolate fudge with a little booze glaze in the aftertaste.

Scofflaw is stepping up and showing there is more to them than their strong IPA game. Coco Absentium is a mighty tasty stout. I hope to see more of the Absentuim variants on shelves in the future.

Nutritious and delicious is the best way to describe this stout. I first tasted it during a visit to Scofflaw and have not been able to keep at least a bottle out of my fridge. The coco taste and aroma is pronounced but not overwhelming, and it possesses just the right consistency in feel.

Dark appearance with significant tan head that disipates quickly. Aroma is a mild cocolate. Taste is also a mild but bitter chocolate without any alcohol taste.

A 500ml bottle with a bottled on date of 12.9.2017

L - Pitch black with no head or lacing. Looks like black licorice

S - Sweet, black licorice, and booze

T - Black licorice, chocolate, cocoa, coconut. Very good

F - Full body and light carbonation

O - Fairly sweet Imperial Stout. Alcohol heat is well hidden. An enjoyable slow sipper
