Under the Sakura, is a light wheat based lager with a subtle hint of cherry aroma and flavour. We wanted to create a unique and easy drinking lager to celebrate the annual spring cherry blossom festival in High Park and partnered with a Niagara cherry farmer to use Ontario grown cherries in our beer. The word ‘Sakura’ is Japanese for Cherry Blossom tree - this is why we named our beer Under the Sakura.

Slightly fruity, but not a lot of cherry going for it. Not much of anything going for it, actually. A very ordinary, undistinguished brew. Most everything out of this brewery seems to be very understated in character. Meh.

Not a bad lager in itself, but it is hard to say what flavours or aroma's the Sakura have imparted on the beer as it was hardly noticeable.

It should be noted that I had this on tap, and it is now theoretically 4 months past when it was brewed, so it is possible that any hints of cherry blossoms have really just started to fade....
