This is the best Jackie O's beer I have had to date.
Nice chocolate stout flavors coupled with a prominent raspberry flavor.
This one is along the lines of a Backyard Rye minus the full mouthfeel.

Pour is fine, with decent head retention. No lacing, the beer is somewhat slick. Smells like raspberry balsamic. Pleasant in many ways, but the high alcohol and roast make the raspberry come across as an artificial flavoring. This follows through in the flavor. Booze, barrel, chocolate, and raspberry flavoring. Well-balanced in flavors, but that does not increase drinkability. Glad I tried it and will not need to worry about having to drink more.

22 oz bottle. Deep brown body with some reddish hues. Head faded quickly into no lacing or retention. Aromas of fudge, cocoa nibs, raspberries, and a big malt sweetness. Flavor has the chocolate and fudge notes up front, the sweet raspberry kicks in midway and then finishes with a big of sweet caramel malt. Good beer, but I could not see myself having more than 5 ounces.

Both prior reviews do this beer proper. A bit strange for a stout; not at all typical but pleasant in nose and taste. Mouthfeel is a bit light and almost a sour tone to it. However, general flavor profile of roasted grain juxtaposed with black and red stone fruits and grapes make this a nice drink, all with some cocoa and chocolate undertones. Worth tasting.

Thanks to Rado for sharing this one at GRG1313's tasting.
Bottle 54/400. Batch 5/15.
Pours a hazy reddish-brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of roasted malt, caramel, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, and wood aromas. Taste is much the same with caramel, toffee, cocoa powder, bourbon, and wood flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of roast and wood bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and sticky mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer a solid mix of caramel, toffee, and bourbon characteristics all around.
Serving type: bottle.
