Seven malts were used to create deep flavors of coffee, chocolate, caramel, and molasses. A hint of bitterness and herbal character from carefully selected European and American hops help support the monolithic maltiness. This beer then waited patiently as it aged in cognac barrels.

Pours a tad thin for a barrel age stout. Mocha colored head that remains throughout as a thin layer. Smell is caramel and artificial vanilla. Barrel is not entirely prevalent but it is there with some mellow woodsiness. Taste is kind of caramel with a little hint of strawberry like those old rolled caramel and fruit candies from back in the day. It feels rather smooth but a bit light. Overall a pretty good beer but there was something kind of off In the flavors. It is good but the flavors are just are kind of off and don't mix all that well.

Pours jet black, a nice khaki head forms, frothy, then recedes quickly. Zero lacing.
Nose and flavor are both pretty lacking for me here - getting roasty malts on the nose and not much more. No barrel, no cognac.
Flavor is nice - not overpowering in any aspect. Does come across a bit oxidized and it's not that old. Cognac bomb this isn't. Not getting much barrel but definitely a nice full body well rounded stout. Just not what I was expecting.
Feel is fine - nice lighter viscosity with a full body but not syrupy or overly heavy. Easier to drink than expected, but a bit disappointed given the price per ounce here, and after how much I loved Oro Negro.
