Available for on site consumption only. Pours jet black with minimal head. Port barrel on the nose, not as pronounced as when fresh. Chocolate, plums, raisins and barrel meld well. Thick, velvety mouthfeel. Holding up quite well, excellent brew by JO's and SP.

Tasted from bottle. Pours black with beige head. Big port/red wine aroma with some cocoa. Thick and sweet mouthfeel. Lots of port flavor. Caramel, red wine, chocolate, dark fruits, dates. Very nice port BA stout.

On tap at JO's
Pours jet black in color with a creamy one-finger khaki head. Smells heavily of port barrel, with undertones of dark chocolate, caramel, figs & raisins and coffee. Taste explodes with port barrel; red wine tannins, dark fruity notes of fig, raisin & cherry, with plenty of oak to match. Under the barrel, notes of dark chocolate, burnt malt, espresso & caramel. Thick and creamy mouthfeel with a velvety and slightly warming finish. If you are a fan of port barrels, this is the beer for you, as it dominates throughout, outstanding

This one pours a very dark black color, with a basically no head, and no lacing.
This smells like little chocolate-covered wine truffles, with milk and dark chocolate, syrupy port, roast, coffee, and dried plums and raisins.
This is quite excellent, and the port barrel works wonders here. It tastes like a truffle with port in the center. There's lots of dark fruit character here- mostly raisin, almost quad like, with some dried plum and cherry skin, too. There's lots of sweet creamy milk chocolate, too, and a touch of roast, which helps it from being too sweet. It's definitely pretty sweet, though.
This is medium bodied, and pretty creamy, with a lower level of carbonation. There is no sign of the ABV here.
As expected, this is awesome. This is not surprising given the stout pedigrees of both breweries.

This pours a similar black to the base, but maybe a little duller with an 8 ball appearance and a thin dark brown caviar blanket on top that quickly fades away to nothing.
This version is so woody it's almost leafy and actually nears a bit of blue cheese earthiness. With all the issues they've had lately I was a bit worried as I also got metallic notes, but I think it was fine and someone said this was after additional checks were put in place. I also get cocoa and wafer but I still keep veering back into detecting sharp, almost funky notes, but after a touch of heat it then swerves back into a delectable maple-nougat as warms.
I love a good quality port and was hoping for some of those intensely nutty, deeply nougatty notes you sometimes get, but it wasn't all there for me. I enjoy regular more.
