Dull black with a short, dark tan foam dying to a thin chain leaving some wobbly lace.
God damn, this really took on a lot of barrel! Splintery, fruity oaked spirits trounce the nuttiness of the underlying beer, which is usually pretty nice in its own right. The body is thinned out further with a stinging heat, and a crisp, tingly sharp carbonation, as it finishes semi-dry.
The pummeling barrel heat goes straight to your head and makes this one a struggle to finish solo.
