Tar black with a short, fizzy dark tan head that dies off rapidly.
Aroma actually hits the bullseye of that granola inspiration: toasted oats, cinnamon, brown sugar, and even rice pudding.
These notes translate well to the palate, with additional notes of chocolate roast and a pleasant bourbon presence. Milky toffee and vanilla contribute in striking a nice balance as it warms.
Wow. It's actually like a wet, boozy, well made granola.
This also has a much fuller body than the overly boozy, thin base that Black Maple tends to have, with a medium froth that helps soften any hit of heat, finishing semi-sticky.
