Imperial stout brewed with honey and lactose and aged in bourbon barrels.
Brewed as the final two batches of 2019, this robust stout aged patiently in Bourbon barrels for 14 months. Brewed with a tremendous amount of marshmallowy Meadowfoam honey and a touch of smoked malt, Abandon the Halogens channels the flavors of s’mores without the hassle of starting a campfire.

Dull black with a short tan head.
Contrasting immediately next More's Eternally Instantaneous highlights a much lighter body and woodier barrel expression. Peppery but also splintery oak meets sweet maple honey and a little bitter cacao. The carbonation froths it up a bit, while the exhale is almost spicy of sassafras qualities.

L: Pours a tarry, oily black brew that forms a very slow-rising warm tan head, which fades quickly to leave behind a very scant milky retention on top, with zero lacing on the rim. Held to the light, this beer has an impenetrable umber hue.
S: Plenty of bourbon barrel, oak, vanilla, and roasted malts. Hints of caramel, coffee, char, and burnt sugar. A little smokey.
T: Caramel, bourbon, vanilla, oak, and brown sugar. Sweeter than expected, with hints of honey. Malts, char, and smoke towards the finish.
F: Full-bodied. Rich, thick, creamy, and velvety. Coats the mouth well, plenty of aftertaste. A little flat, lacking carbonation.
O: Strong imperial stout, a little flat but with strong aromas and flavor. A solid purchase. More sweet than bitter, but balances out the flavors in a happy medium. Definitely worth drinking again.

Drank from a 12.7 fl. oz. bottle purchased at Craft Beer Cellar, Belmont, MA
Served in a tulip
The beer poured an oily dark brown/black color and looked somewhat flat. A cap of larger sized, saddle brown bubbles topped the liquid, but it quickly dissolved. There was no lacing whatsoever.
The aroma was enjoyable but pretty nondescript initially. Malty and rich. Roasted malts came through strong. Good dose of caramel malt sweetness too. Brown sugar appeared as the beer warmed. Fresh vanilla bean was also noticeable. Touch of smoke. The nose turned richer and sweeter with time, with the vanilla presence becoming particularly more pronounced.
The flavor profile was similar to the nose but perhaps slightly less impressive. Rich and malty. Nice melding of roasted and caramel malt notes. Brown sugar was apparent in the center. Dark fruit notes came through here as well. Some vanilla was detectable too. More roasted malts on the back end and the finish. Touch of lingering booze and sweetness after the swallow.
The mouthfeel was disappointing. It was thinner bodied than I anticipated and definitely lacked some carbonation. At 14.5% ABV, however, the booze was remarkably well hidden.
I usually find Jackie O’s stouts to be rather mediocre, and this beer was no exception. While both the nose and the flavor profile were solid, the s’mores aspect was lost on me, the bourbon barrel presence seemed to be absent and the mouthfeel was very thin for the style. At $14 a bottle, there are far better options available.
