Thanks to my favorite man-crush, fiver29, for this 375ML bottle. The more Jackie O’s barrel aged beers in my fridge (& belly) the better!
The pour is black – ‘twould be odd if it wasn’t with all them stouts in there - & the nose brings sweet malts, bourbon, & maple. In that order. I like these things.
The Walls Know My Name could be renamed Strong, Silky, & Subtle (never mind the contradictions). Alcohol & bourbon are millimeters from my face & simultaneously dancing the Stanky Legg on the palate. Beyond these bold impressions are tidbits of the contributing blend: maple, roast, rum cake (where’d that come from?), oak that runs through the finish & dries the beer out. Mouthfeel is perfect, especially for a blend, & if it weren’t for the rapid warming of my belly & face, I think I could drink at least three of these. The last in bed, of course.
I can feel my wisdom surging as I work through this bottle. This gets better with every sip. Fantastic beer that deserves a place on the podium with the best.
