Picked up a 12.7 oz bottle from the Appalachian Vintner in Asheville 8-4-22 for $17.99. 2022 bottling consumed 12-14-22.
Beer poured black with an okay off-white head.
Nose is nice with notes of bourbon barrel, chocolate, dark fruits, and vanilla.
Taste is a large malt base that give you a sample of the barrel up front. On the back end the adjuncts of strawberry, chocolate and vanilla open up and take over the show. Finishes a touch sweet.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and smooth.
Overall a good beer for what it is. A fun variant to try once but not again given the price point.

Muddled dark brownish-black with a short tan head dispersing to an unevenly bubbly ridge.
Oak up front is nutty before meeting a tangy, sweet Neapolitan flavor mid-palate where it then becomes more maturely fudgy afterwards.

The apparition series is a deep one and here with have the neopolitan variant. Jackie Os taps into strawberries to add depth to their BA stout. It is light throughout, but it is definitely there. Continuing there, it is one of the lightest apparitions to date but sort of plays into the name. A different approach to their overall deep inventory.
