Black with a hint of brown on the edges, tan head. Walnuts dipped in maple syrup, washed in bourbon, with sweet caramel malts, semi-sweet chocolate, and brown sugar make up the aromas bouquet. Taste adds dark fruit and the caramel is now more candi sugar. Feel is rich but the barrel and nuts cut into the sweetness just enough to balance in a healthy way, thick and heavy.

12.7 ounce bottle, 2022 vintage. Served in a Jackie O's snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both decent enough. I like the aroma, the brew smells like dark fruit, bourbon, vanilla, walnuts and maple. For the most part I think the taste is pretty much like the aroma, but there's also some toffee, chocolate and brown sugar flavors noticeable too. It's pretty tasty! Mouthfeel/body is full, it's coating and a bit syrupy with a low/moderate amount of carbonation. This is a really good imperial stout and I'm wishing I would have bought more of this when I bought a bottle the first time. Definitely want to see if I can find more, worth picking up if you come across some!

Poured from the bottle into a teku glass. Vintage 2022.
Slightly slapping liquid hinting of a little bit of possible weak body, but a nice classic dark mahogany brown, with some real red dark depth to it as well. Nearly no head, or barely even a tan collar while pouring, and it appears to even have some large amount of carbonation as well along the sides that is quite fine in size.
Decent aroma. Hints of soft nougat and a bit of cherry fruit nicely. Touches a light toasty brown sugar, but the booze and high abv is extremely well hidden. Doesn't quite have the sense of oaky barrel character, yet comes off quite solid and enjoyable on the nose.
Palate is a real nice treat. Surprisingly light bodied, but has a silky texture. Not much oak flavor, but somehow a round character has made a mouthfeel that comes like drinking real liquid syrup in an enjoyable way. Huge maple like character, and warm brandy like flavors. Finishes like a rich tawny port, deep in dark burnt sugar caramel quality, but more of a sweeter burnt sense. Huge stomach pit warming, but not boozy tasting.
Real enjoyable take on a barrel aged brew, even if some of the oaky flavor doesn't quite make its presence.

Poured at fridge temp. Pours motor oil black with zero head. Looks daaarrrrk. The nose is fantastic. Boozy bourbon, maple, brown sugar, molasses, walnuts, Nutella, fudge, caramelized sugar, and a layer of roasted malts. What a beast this is!
The taste is super smooth. Walnuts and maple, with a kiss of bourbon. Dang! Chocolate, vanilla, brown sugar, sweet toffee, and some dark fruit. This is sweet, but it's not too sweet. This is just so smooth. Marshmallows come through over a bit. Love it.
Mouthfeel is super thick and creamy. Overall, a wonderful stout.
