L: Pours a rich cola brown, which forms a thin and short-lived head that dissipates, leaving behind nary a trace of lacing or retention. However, a rising stream of light bubbles is suggestive of a moderate level of carbonation. Held to the light, an opaque chocolate hue.
S: Vanilla and cinnamon in the front, followed by trace of chocolate, nuts, and barrel.
T: Barrel-forward. Big splash of bourbon, followed by pecans, dark chocolate, vanilla, and oak. Cinnamon and some dark fruit towards the middle. Finishes sweet.
F: Silky smooth mouthfeel. A bit sticky. Medium- to full-bodied, bias towards medium. Moderate carbonation.
O: The 14% ABV sneaks up on ya. Great beer, nice work by Jackie O's again. Recommend.

Picked up a 2023 edition 375ml bottle from the brewery 5-24-23 for $15.99. Consumed 5-14-24.
Beer poured black with a nice tan head that dissipated pretty quickly.
Nose is very nice as i am getting a really nice blend of cinnamon, vanilla, and bourbon.
Taste follows the nose as the large malt base marries very well with the cinnamon and vanilla. Getting a slight nut undertone but it is not obvious as is the barrel which lends a touch of leather and partners with hopping to balance this out expertly.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with each sip being soft and smooth.
Overall what a delightful beer, glad i purchased!

Poured from a bottle, the porter is a jet black and could only manage a small, brief head. No lacing of any significance.
Aroma is light sweet bourbon with pecan and vanilla. Enticing.
Taste follows nose as the pecan, vanilla and cinnamon blend for a wonderful flavor. The cinnamon is noticeable but very far in the background. The barrel is light, sweet and perfectly complements the other favors but is not hot. ABVis effectively completely masked. That’s no easy trick at 14%.
Mouthfeel is good despite low carbonation. The feel is heavy but not cloying.
Definitely an nontraditional porter, but the flavor is fantastic.

This porter was rich and delicious. Perfect for a cold damp dark night. Dark brown color, screaming richness in taste. Yes, with noticeable vanilla and cinnamon. The bourbon taste is just a hint — not over-powering. This beer is delicious. Inviting molasses aroma, with taste that warms and satisfies. Love this.

Look - Black and thick with a quickly dissappearing head, not much rimming but nice lacing
Smell - jackie os smell... Plus: chocolate pecans vanilla cinnamon and a lot of barrel
Taste - like a pecan pie. You get that pecan with some cinnamon sugar vanilla a long with some graham cracker crust
Feel - medium body, thiner than I expected even though porters are normally thinner. medium light fizzy carb
Overall - pretty tasty
