Brewed in collaboration with our friends at Dancing Gnome, this leviathan stout aged for 17 months in freshly emptied Old Fitzgerald barrels, patiently developed notes of vanilla, German chocolate cake, and dried fruit.

A - Black pour with really dense caramel, creamy lacing and lots of viscosity and legs on the sides of the glass.
S - Chocolate cake, Bourbon, and delicate vanilla, overall: well-rounded aroma.
T - Chocolate cake with a little bit of vanilla up front gets smashed by a wave of Bourbon followed with some dark fruit and lingering chocolate cake, dark fruit, and cocoa. Ends more on the sweeter side but has enough bitterness to not make it sugary sweet.
M - Light syrupy body leaves a light sugary residue on the lips and some warming in the back of the throat.
O - Aged nicely and the dark fruit aspect gives it a somewhat Barleywine character.

Look - black and thick with a nice initial tan head that leaves great rimming and lacing
Smell - vanilla, dark chocolate, char barrel, slight dark fruit
Taste - woody char, dark chocolate, slight vanilla, a very very slight bitterness
Feel - Full body but a tad thinner than desired with a light fizzy carb
Overall - I like that it's not sweet like a lot of BA stouts. With a little more body and a little more depth in the taste. Still really good BA stout

13.2% stout aged 17 months in Old Fitzgerald barrels collaboratively made by Jackie O's and Dancing Gnome.
Poured from a 12.7 ounce bottle, the body is an opaque dark black with a small, brief head that quickly retreats to the glass edge. No lacing.
Aroma is bourbon barrel, sweet and heavy, charred malt and vanilla.
Taste follows nose but is not as sweet. The barrels is present but moves to the background. Tones of dark fruit and chocolate. Only a hint of ABV at finish.
Mouthfeel is soft with low carbonation.
An enjoyable stout and perfect for a winter day's enjoyment.

12.7 ounce bottle, 2023 vintage, big thanks to Brutaltruth for this brew! Served in a Jackie O's snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about a half inch tan head that stayed around a little bit with a decent amount of lacing. I like the aroma a lot, the brew smells like vanilla, bourbon, dark chocolate, roasted malt, caramel and some dark fruit/berries. I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some chocolate cake breadiness, oak and coconut flavors. Good amount of barrel character here. Mouthfeel/body is full, it's slick and a bit syrupy with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a pretty good barrel aged imperial stout, definitely worth picking up if you're able to!

From the 12.7 oz bottle in a snifter. This monster pours a coal black with a
modest head of light brown foam that settles to a thick ring and sports
some nice legs. Nose of dark chocolate, dark fruits, bourbon, vanilla,
dark chocolate, and dark coffee hints. Flavors surpass the nose with
dark chocolate, dark berry notes of black and blueberry, dark coffee,
vanilla, bourbon, light oak, and nutty malt notes with a touch of
coconut. Mouth feel is full, smooth, rich, coating, light carbonation,
and a bitter malt finish.
Overall, another winner from a great brewery!
Cheers
