On tap at Jackie O's the day of the June release. Tasted side by side with the Orange Cream variation.
Sun Village India Pale Wheat Ale with orange, lemon and lime zest.
Appearance
The beer is very bright and sunny indeed. It only has a faint haze that helps catch the light, making this beer glow. A white collar of foam lasts.
Aroma
This beer is very lively with citrus zest. Lime being dominate. The lime aroma is very interesting and is something that is not typical in many beers. Luckily it also smells really good. The lime almost brings it's tartness, but its leveled out by sweet orange. The whole thing smells bitter with citrus rind.
Taste
Lots more lime with orange coming through right behind. This tastes very fresh, zesty and citric. The finish gets very bitter, backed by bitter hops and even more bitter citrus rind. The wheat really comes out in the finish and aftertaste, giving the beer a snappy, whole grain end.
Mouthfeel
Dangerously dry. Like, really, really dry. The beer is light and crisp, finishing clean.
Overall
A pretty interesting one. I really like how the lime comes forward here. I liked this better than the base beer but not as much as the orange cream version.
