A - The barrel seems to add a nice dark caramel hue to this normally quite sandy colored beer. The head is moderate, the grey/off-white color of antique lace.

S - Brandy, ho! Really potent and inviting, though there is essentially nothing else going on in the aroma. I think that the base beer is just a 'shade' delicate for such a robust and recognizable liquor like brandy.

T - Brandy still beats the beer into submission in the flavor department, but some of the maltiness and fruity Belgian presence also tries to make itself known. Tasty.

M - A little boozy. Medium carbonation. Definitely mellows out a bit though with some warming up.

O - Not bad, quite a nice beer to sip on actually, but it's a brandy bomb and rather one-dimensional.

On tap at Jackie O's on 8/27/11

Irresponsible Tick #3

Dirty brown copper with sediment cloudiness. Spots of lace. Half moon collar retention. Aroma - lots of brandy but not much barrel. Butterscotch in abundance. Toffee/caramel. Faint spiciness. Really smooth with very low carbonation. Medium feel overall. Tastes kinda tame but decent. Oak is more prominent here than brandy. Toffee and buttery caramel. Doesn't seem to have much Belgian influence. Carbonation seems to pick up over time. Barrel and brandy do ok but not all that interesting.

Jackie O's Belgian Single sged on Brsndy barrels. Pours a nice amber brown with a thin beige head. Nose has candy malts, sweet fruits, osk, Brandy snd Belgian yeast. Flavor is sweet and malty but well balanced by barrels. Medium body drink very well. Great example of style. I could enjoy this brew anytime.
