Brewed with heaps of roasted malt and rye, this Imperial Stout aged in bourbon barrels carries notes of baker’s chocolate, toasted challah, and subtle smoke.

Poured into a cheesy plastic hotel glass. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque in the glass with a quarter finger milk chocolate head that dissipates to patches with light lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, dark chocolate, dark molasses, bourbon, light vanilla and smoke. Flavor is dark toasted malt, baker's chocolate, black strap molasses, bourbon, woody oak and light smoke. Medium bodied with moderate creaminess. Deep, rich malt body that would pass as a Russian imperial style stout. Fine dry chocolate and bourbon barrel character with clear barrel woody oak. Smoke is present, but faint. Still full bodied and fine after 2 years. A nice straightforward, well barreled stout. Nicely done.

Look - Black and thick with a nice big thick tan head that last for a while and is sticky.
Smell - roasted malt, char, chocolate, almost russian imperial smell
Taste - same as smell, slight sweet and slight booze a little smoke
Feel - full body light carb
Overall - really nice

From the 12 oz can in a snifter. This massive brew pours a
dark coal black with a moderate head of light brown foam that
settles to a thick ring with light lacing and decent legs. Nose of
light char, brulee, deep roast, light smoke, bourbon, rich vanilla,
and dark cocoa dashed with brulee and dark fruit nuances. Flavors
hit the mark with dark cocoa, bourbon, vanilla, char, roast, light oak
subtle smoke, dark berry notes of black and blueberry, rich vanilla,
and dark chocolate fudge. Mouth feel is full, smooth, lightly coating,
rich, lightly warming with well hidden alcohol, and a lightly dry
boozy finish.
Overall, a solid brew----not sure about it in a can, but will work all the same.
Cheers

Canned 9/5/24; drank 11/9/24 @ the Yarchives.
Black/brown appearance.
A rough pour yielded a small, noisy dark tan head which quickly dissipated; decent lacing remained.
Toasted wood, bacon, bakers chocolate, mild marshmallow & faint peat notes in the nose.
Thick, sticky mouthfeel.
Dry wood, bacon, peat & baker's chocolate flavors; booze heat emerged strongly as this warmed.
Smoky, sticky, big & boozy. Not subtle, not boring, but a bit over-the-top for me.
