Pours an effervescent & ruddy chestnut/mahogany with on finger of fast falling tan head. No real head retention or lacing, plenty viscous
S: Tons of dark fruit, plus plenty of booze & apricot/fig jam, great depth on this nose!
T: Follows the nose, more Sherry notes than Bourbon, plenty of barrel dryness & noticeable booze kiss, red grapes show as well up front. Figgyness, red grapes, with a booze/barrel edge, some leather notes & candied oranges/cherries on this beer once warmed up, traces of woody hops as well. Finishes dry, oaky. leathery, with plenty of red grape & figs & with a little of that Sherry Treacle sweetness
MF: Faily chewy, low-level carbonation, warming
Very complex with interesting flavors, a sipper to be sure. Sherry dominated this & that's not in my wheelhouse, but very enjoyable
