Barrel aged Barleywine brewed from a single English barley and a single English hop. An addition of brown sugar during the extended boil in the kettle adds to the layers of depth in toffee, soft caramel and dried dark fruit. Aged in a mix of bourbon barrels for 24 months.

Poured from a twelve ounce can, the body is dark brown. Small head and not much lacing.
Aroma is barrel, first and foremost. Wafts of raisin and caramel follow.
Taste follows nose as the delicious barrel is in front. There's a substantial sweetness tasting like liquified raisin and fig mix with a toffee chaser. The sweetness, barrel and malt conspire to form a heavily sweet sipper. No bitterness.
Mouthfeel is good, substantial but not much carbonation.
A delightful sipper for English style fans. Those who do not enjoy sweet barleywines should steer far clear of this one.

This is intensely sweet but I'm liking it. Lots of sticky toffee and lightly brulee'd brown sugar up front, just huge sweetness kicking the palate. The finish doesn't let up, a sugary mixed fruit jam note lingers long. The bourbon blacket over it all is wonderful. Another great one from Jackie.

2025 can poured at fridge temp. Pours a very dark brown with almost zero head. The nose is intense figs, toffee, prunes, caramelized sugar, a slight hint of smoke, and a nice boozy malty note. Wow. Just insane on the nose.
The taste follows the nose. Fairly sweet. Figs, prunes, raisins, sweet candy, malts, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, molasses, and a very slight earthy note. This hits all the right notes for me when it comes to a BA barleywine.
The mouthfeel is medium bodied and the aftertaste is full of fruits and toffee. Great beer overall.
