A blend of Imperial Stouts aged for 21 months in bourbon barrels and 12 months in cognac barrels.
This special batch of Temple of Minerva was first aged in a blend of 1792 and Larceny bourbon barrels for 21 months then transferred into cognac casks to patiently rest for another 12 months. This offering imbues a rich depth of flavor bridging the gap between both spirit casks it had the fortune of aging in.

Pretty good, can from the source. Cognac flavour trumps the bourbon treatment. Not so much stout base, and that's a good thing. A sipper at this level of abv.

From the 12 oz can in a snifter from the Little Lady's Daughter and her Beau----Cheers Jeanette and Jamie!
This monster pours a rich obsidian with a faint head of fizzling foam but sports some
exceptional legs with a swirl. Nose of bourbon, vinous wine, oak, moderate char, brulee,
subtle smoke, vanilla, dark breaded notes, spice cake, and dark fruits. Flavors find
11 on the amplifier with dark berry notes of black and raspberry drenched in vinous
cognac, mellow bourbon, oak, earthy malts, vanilla, coffee, toffee, char, dark
bakers cocoa, tobacco, and vanilla. Mouth feel is full, smooth, rich, coating,
warming, faint carbonation, and a bitter malt and vinous cognac finish.
Overall, a stellar brew from a fantastic brewery!
Cheers

Poured at fridge temp. Pours a very thick black with minimal head. The nose is bloody amazing. Slightly boozy. Cognac comes through immediately, following by nice bourbon notes. Vanilla, dark fruit, chocolate, and some fruity Christmas cake.
The taste is an explosion of flavors. WOW. I haven't experienced this much intensity in a long time. Beautiful notes of Cognac, raisin, vanilla, bourbon, chocolate, toffee, prunes, molasses, and more Cognac! I can tell the ABV is high, but it doesn't come across as 16% ABV. A truly amazing beer.
The mouthfeel is fairly thick, with an aftertaste of Cognac. It's actually amazing how the Cognac overtakes the bourbon despite being aged longer in bourbon. I'm assuming the casks were a bit more active.
