I could be wrong, but I think Brad said this is Dark App with currants that was put into a 7 gallon bourbon barrel that previously housed a coffee DA Nano. Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a tasting glass.
3.5 A: Black color. Couldn't get much of a head going.
3.0 S: Smells more like coffee than currant, but currants exist nonetheless. Light leathery bourbon. Supple roast. Light chocolate. The Dark App in this isn't as powerful or complex as it should be.
2.5 T: Sourish tanginess from either the currants or the bourbon. I'd put money on it being the bourbon. Light coffee. Weak leathery bourbon. Good amount of astringency. Again, the Dark App seems muted behind all this trouble.
2.0 M: Lighter medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Lacking all creaminess.
2.0 D: Disappointing. This should be a damn good combo, but the execution didn't work out.
