A Marzen lager brewed in the Oktoberfest tradition. Deep caramel color in color, with a complex malt body.

Amber colored brew--marzen-esque!--with a two-finger off-white head. A slight bit of lacing around the glass. The nose is malty--bread and caramel. The flavor follows but is definitely on the sweeter side. The finish is kind of limp, not very robust. Not terrible, but there are much better Oktoberfest efforts out there.

A really nice clear amber appearance
Around medium carbonation with a medium body
Aroma is caramel and pear followed by some doughy sweet pastry
Taste for the most part follows the aroma. Some sweetness, caramel, malty, pear with doughy bread and mild hops
Overall a very enjoyable unique version of a festbier

Had OT 10/27/21
Look-Clear amber bordering on copper
Aroma-Heavenly strong caramel malt. Suspect some Vienna, my favorite lager malt. Hint of hops
Flavor-Follows the aroma
Feel-Medium bodied, hint creamy
Overall-An excellent Marzen on the sweeter side but not too sweet. It might use a touch more hops but not too much. My guess is that this, like most beers, is better OT. Remember buy cold beer, not warm. Stores should be punished for selling warm craft beer. Some cases and bottles even say keep this refrigerated and still the stores let it sit in the warm shelf under the horrible florescent lights (the worst).

Purchased a 6 pack at the Bottle King in Middletown, NJ, Right now in the fall of 2021 the Asbury Park Brewery website states it is "currently being brewed."
LOOK: Pours a clear amber, caramel color with a white head. Head retention is poor. Side glass lace is at first evident but that too ends up disappearing.
AROMA: Caramel and some roasted malts come to the forefront. There is also a sweet undertone..
TASTE: Caramel flavor comes trough, Malts while present are have minimal strength.
FEEL: Too thin, very little body.
Not a worthy Marzen, and at a price tag of $11.99, few beers at this price would rate this poorly.

Poured from undated 12 oz. can into a seidel mug. It pours a fairly dark amber with orange hues. The thin, ecru-colored head dissipated quickly. It smells of roasted malt, caramel, earthy notes, and spice. The taste is well-balanced. It has chocolate and caramel notes but it's not overly sweet. Its balanced by dry, earthy spices. It has a nice complexity. It's well-carbonated and the 5.9% ABV is appropriate. Overall, while its name isn't very original, Fest is a solid Märzen. I'm going to look for it next fall and drink it fresher.
