Consumed 04/28/08.
Black with no highlights, even when held to light. Nice ring of foam around glass edges.
Toasted dark malt aromas mingle with oatmeal in the nose.
Flavor is similar to aroma. Roasted dark malt bitterness up front then a smooth dry oat sweetness to finish up. Not very complex. Mouthfeel is a bit watery.
I must give props to the brewmaster for the quality control. As with all the beers I tried at PH Woods, this is a VERY competent example of an unadventurous beer.
