My first beer from this brewery. Poured from a 16 oz can into a pint glass. Hazy orange color with a big foamy white head. Good retention and filmy lacing. Aroma is predominantly grapefruit and mild bitterness. Taste features grapefruit, pineapple and good bitterness. Mouthfeel is rich for the style and fairly smooth. The bitterness is there but this is not a head-shrinking hop bomb. Very drinkable. A good IPA!!!

Poured from the can into a Spiegleau IPA glass. Canned May 29th 2020. eek…

Good forming head, but with real frothy and bubble bath foamy retention. Bleach white, and not a cling to be had on the glass. As it settles it's on a hazy, not quite turbid NE body of muted dark orange and dark lemon yellow. Decent but not that great or amazing either.

I would describe this aroma as an eclectic mix. Still nicely hop forward, but a mix of tropical pineapple juicy character, and I would even say it smells kind of sweaty strangely. Is my brow wet or something. There's this almost gym dank pungency to this which is the only way I can describe it. It luckily doesn't last for long, as more of the sweeter hop aroma comes forward. Simple neutral malt and yeast profile.

The first thing that strikes me is the very noticeably wet body of this brew. Creamy character, or rich backbone isn't here, but a lighter almost session like quality. The flavor still manages to transpire. A little hint of pineapple, touches even pear sweetness. Finish is much like it's first sip, wet and not lingering on the palate at all. There's some unique qualities though as the tropical hop angle seems to have an almost corner store candy sweetness to it.

Not a bad beer, but really lacking some depth, particularly for a NEIPA. Still things could be worse, and it is a unique one.

L: Poured from a tallboy can to a snifter glass. Had an orange / yellow color and an extremely cloudy consistency. There was a quarter inch of foamy, fairly long-lasting head. Sparse lacing.

S: A pretty good aroma of hops, citrus fruit, melon, malt, and berries.

T: Tasted of a little bit of malt (mostly in the finish; not a huge factor), some blueberry notes (a subtle presence), a little bit of yeast, some hops (not overdone; just enough), a bit of melon, and a good shot of citrus fruit (orange, in particular). This is a focused, well-balanced, and likable flavor. A nice mix of hoppiness and fruitiness.

F: A fair amount of carbonation wth a smooth finish. Medium-bodied.

O: A solidly made, easy to like IPA. Worth a look.

The Oozlefinch Craft Brewery "Foggy McFoghorn"
on tap @ Lynnhaven Pub, Virginia Beach, VA on 19 June 2017

Notes: Ah, a milkshake beer! I certainly didn't expect that given the name ;) It looks like a glass of pulpy orange juice with a short white head on top. As expected of the style the aroma is acidic and loaded with tropical fruit and that carries over into the flavor. It's citrusy and sweet with soft grapefruit, peach, mango, pineapple and papaya. Medium leaning towards medium-light in body and gently effervescent. An interesting change of pace in that it's a little sweeter than most but still balanced. Nicely done.

Poured a cloudy orange body with decent head and classic acidic aroma of an unfiltered IPA. Smooth, more sweet than acidic sharp like orange juice with white grapefruit/tropical fruit with clean finish and good/mild bitterness.
