Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass. Contains Lactose on can.
Crystal clear amber, a real nice shade of dark bronze and chestnut brown colors. Light khaki to off white colored three finger head with a supper creamy appearance and thick retention. Great aggressive looking beer.
Interesting aroma. A mix of sugary brown toasted malts, with mixed sharp pine and some tropical qualities. Sweet sensing with a balanced solid mix of malt vs hop quality. A bit different though, some flavors seem like they are competing with each other instead of complimenting.
Palate is a bit unexpected. A big of a sugary syrupy mouthfeel and also sweet sickly flavor. Big pine bitterness East coast like punch, particularly in the finish. Tea like mix of hop but also some real lactose sweetness which seems out of place.
A bit of conflicting brew, with a good old school pine blast, but has a bit of odd sweetness that doesn't quite fit.
