Another disappointment from Oozlefinch for me. A delectable description of banana, almond, coconut, and vanilla and what I got was a fairly sour but other why’s flavorless beer lacking any unique characteristics or flavor as described. Another wasted 20 dollar 4 pack. Probably the last I try from these guys. Price does not always equal quality.

L: Poured from a tallboy can to a pint glass. Had a yellow / orange color and a murky / cloudy consistency. There was a quarter inch of foamy / fizzy head that quickly dissipated. Not much lacing to speak of.
S: A very nice aroma of citrus fruit, malt, coconut, tropical fruit, and wheat.
T: Tasted of a small amount of malt (mostly in the finish, but kind of muted), a good bit of tropical fruit (papaya, perhaps?), a decent amount of coconut (always present, but never obnoxiously so), and a whole lot of citrus fruit (orange, in particular). This is a sweet, sour, and lively flavor. A lot of fruit to keep things interesting.

Reviewing on the style. Pours an amber-yellow color with minimal head, very cloudy and a light thickness. Aromas of banana, berries and vanilla are the main players. Tartness is great and just enough. Mouthfeel is both tangy and extremely refreshing. Awesome balance and clean, fruity finish. One of my favorites so far from Oozlefinch !!

Can to tulip.
The appearance was a fairly thick burnt purple color with a soft glow of some magenta/lavender hues closer to the top. A finger and a half's worth of white foamy head sat there for about a minute before gently subsiding. Then left a concave lace trim the sides of my glass.
The aroma had a semi-sour blueberry tart to sweet character up front then rolling into a subtle balance with some banana creamy sweetness some warmth. Further underneath has a light touch of cinnamon, oats and vanilla.
The flavor leaned towards a fair balance between blueberries, banana and creamy lactose sweet hints. Semi-sticky aftertaste of vanilla cream, blueberries and long sweet banana.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied, maybe a touch closer to full and had a decent sipping quality about it. Carbonation felt a bit under. Very smooth finish without much sour harshness.
Overall, this beer seems to scoot along with all of what Oozlefinch set out to do except that this is nowhere in any sense a Berliner weisse (they may want to research the style to see how they are properly done before they try and do one with all of these adjuncts). Not sure where I got the cinnamon since the brewer did not say that was added (guessing that was me noticing that). Good for a pastry sour ale, and I wouldn't mind coming back to for breakfast. Also, the ABV is too high to be a Berliner.
