Very tasty beer. Poured from a 16 oz can into a tulip glass. Pours a dense mahogany color with some light getting through. Big frothy head with excellent retention. Several foamy rings of lacing formed around the sides of the glass. Aroma is strong - mostly sweet malt. Flavor is more complex. Sweet malt, lactose, yeast (a bit like an earthy Saison) and a little alcohol bite. There is a bit of bitterness in the finish. Mouthfeel is rich and malty, mostly smooth except for a bit of alcohol. The malt, lactose yeast and touch of bitterness are all blended just right. I had this one with dinner and it went down very nicely.
