I've been buying a lot of local beer at the Casual Pint in VA Beach. One of the breweries they feature is Oozlefinch on he Virginia Peninsula. They do a lot of sours and uses the same names like "Crazy Pants" and "Das Yummy" for a variety of sours with different spicing and ingedients. I enjoyed this version of Crazy Pants today. Poured from a 16 oz can into a tulip glass, this beer features a dense, dull. orange juice-like color. The head is white, very small, very fizzy and fairly short lived, Aroma and taste tell you this is a sour, but the sourness takes a back seat to the additional ingredients and spices. The title lists all the ingredients contained on the can, except lactose!!! Rather than try to identify any set of flavors, the flavor assortment is very pronounced and pushes the sourness to the back seat. This could almost be described as "exotic". I had it with Chinese food and it really enhanced the meal. If pressed, I would have to say the ginger and cardamom stood out but it was really the total blending of flavors that make this beer. Delightful aroma and taste!!!! Mouthfeel is rich with flavor with the sourness notocible after the "Wow this is different" effect. It may not be everyone's favorite, but I really enjoyed it.
