Served from the can in a Lagunitas mason jar.
The decadence... Anyway, this stuff pours a deep midnight brown topped by a finger of khaki foam. The nose comprises malted milk balls, roasted malts, toffee, mild vanilla, and a touch of coffee. The taste brings in more of the same, the sweeter aspects truly in control here, for better and for worse, that malted milk balls affect really taking the lead. It's a strange sweetness, likely caused by the addition of the lucuma powder, and it doesn't quite mix with the rest of the stout-y sweetnesses, more like a middle school dance: all the kids are there in the gym, but the boys are on one side, and the girls are on the other, and though they're all vibing to the tunes, any dancing is awkward and forced. The body is a stolid medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a smooth feel. Overall, a unique stout experience, not one I would generally return to quickly, but also one I won't really warn people away from.
